these are the signs of the times

i like hardcore, therefore it should go without saying that the cro-mags are one of my favorite bands. that's my great introduction to this video. i could go on and on about my personal feelings about "age of quarrel" vs "best wishes", harley vs JJ, the time my friend's band opened for harley's war in long island when i was like 18 and harley asked the audience (of about 30 people) if they knew where he could get some coke, etc etc, but this isn't a blog where hardcore is discussed in detail. this is a blog where i present ridiculous youtube videos for your (and my own) viewing pleasure.

this video is pretty much the response to everything JJ wrote about harley in his book "evolution of a cro-magnon", which i recommend that you read (or at least listen to the audiobook if you're illiterate). you know, the truth in this feud probably lies somewhere down the middle, like with most stories that have two sides, but damn if JJ isn't making harley look pretty dumb in the late 2000s. i mean JJ is like this superman vegetarian warrior/aura of positivity, almost like HR if he wasn't batshit insane. he plays actual hardcore shows and still goes nuts and does backflips and loves it when the crazy kids mosh on the stage with him. in short, pretty much everyone loves the dude. OK so "bloodclot" didn't go over that well, but at least the subtle nu-metal influences of his recent project were still miles beyond... whatever THIS is supposed to be:

stigma "said he was there". steven blush thinks it's the best thing harley's ever done. harley ethers JJ with the line "a bloodclot's a pussy and a pussy's a bitch". skeleton hoodie. skeleton bandanas. machetes. huge wall of death, probably in europe. breakdancing. nu-metal moshing. all of this is waiting for you when you push play. hey, don't look at me, i just write the blog.
